Outstanding food sorting performance meets a low Total Cost of Ownership
Smoother operations and reductions in downtime?
The 4C drives business results with its low total cost of ownership (TCO). Solid state sensors and LED illumination reduces maintenance and replacement costs. They also help reduce power consumption.
Low TCO can go even further with an intuitive user interface. Ease of use reduces the amount of time operators need to spend on training – and the time it takes to complete daily processing tasks. An open design and hygienic surface finish empower operators to get cleaning done easily – and quickly!
TOMRA’s long history and expertise in sorting technology benefits your business. We have over 25 years' experience helping food processors deliver the very best quality.

Key Benefits
Total AI flexibility
Use LUCAi™ deep learning or machine learning individually or simultaneously . Operators have the flexibility to choose the optimal AI to solve the issues of the day. If a novel defect appears in a nut harvest, operators can easily use machine learning to “train” the machine and augment the LUCAi™ model.
Get to know the new TOMRA 4C
How does AI deliver labor savings for food packers and processors?
The 4C is unique in that it allows operators to use machine learning simultaneously with LUCAi™ deep learning models. The TOMRA 4C machine learning interface gives operators the tools they need to train the machine and adapt to the local environment. The intuitive interface allows operators to easily identify defects in product images and “train” the machine on good vs bad. This means operators can enjoy the convenience of a pre-trained model while having the ability to augment the model by identifying defects specific to their environment or harvest.
Can you share the data from your TOMRA 4C machine?
What mechanical components help deliver ejection precision?
Rear ejection and small fast-pitch air ejectors deliver incredible precision.
These ejectors are built specifically for nut applications. With a pitch of just 6.25mm, the ejector can target the very center of mass of a defective nut to remove it, without influencing the path of neighbouring nuts.
This ensures you are only rejecting what you want to and maximizing your yield – sort after sort.
How will the TOMRA 4C fit in my line?
What is the value of Pulsed LED sensors for defect detection in nuts and IQF?
Our proven Pulsed LED sensors enable you to capture the most complete image of an object and detect product defects – even those invisible to the human eye.
When it comes to sorting individually quick frozen (IQF) items, Pulsed LED is the best way to sort out harmful EVM defects, such as stalks and pods. Pulsed LEDs also empower nut processors to effectively sort defects not related to the nut structure, including hulls, stems and sticks.

Our intelligent systems learn, adapt, and make smarter decisions — empowering food producers to deliver consistent quality with greater efficiency.
Learn more about Artificial IntelligenceCamera
As the first to introduce camera with pulsed LED technology in free-fall and on-belt sorting, TOMRA develops camera-based imaging systems optimized for food sorting and grading. Whether you use a bulk sorter, lane grader, or do sampling for QC, there is a camera-based solution available.
Explore Our camera technologiesChute
For products that glide and flow, TOMRA handles them via the chute. A product that slides across a chute is easy to inspect from all sides, even at capacities as high as 24 tons per hour. The value of a chute isn't just about the stability and reliability: the chute means your machine requires a smaller footprint and fits seamlessly into your integrated line, so you can greatly expand your capacity without sacrificing on space.

Learn more about deep learningTOMRA XCD: Outstanding Sorting Accuracy
Sort incredibly specific defects and optimize yields even at high capacities. XCD’s one-click technology enables operators to quickly train the machine on good versus bad. Once trained, the machine creates a multidimensional space that analyzes every aspect of an object. The result: outstanding defect detection with minimal false ejections and a smooth, intuitive experience for operators.
